NEW Cibales Café: A Puertorrican Coffeehouse

Grand Opening: January 29th 2009, 10am

The heart of San Juan's banking district can now rely on the best coffee Puerto Rico has to offer in Cibales Café. The coffee house is set to open on January 30th, 2009. Cibales Café will be located in the lobby of the AEELA Building on Ponce De León Avenue. Conveniently located close to a mass transit stop for the local Tren Urbano,  the south end of the famous Golden Mile now serves black gold: Puerto Rican Coffee from Cibales.

Farmers united to bring you the best coffee

Café Cibales is brought to you directly from coffee farmers who, for almost a century, have been combining our resources to produce and distribute the highest quality coffee. As members of 'Puerto Rico's Commercial Farmers' Cooperative', we work our own land and have been doing so for generations. In fact, many of us insist on plowing the land with oxen, the way humanity used to do it before machines came into play.

A century working for fair trade

Decades before 'fair trade' was a fashionable endeavor, the “Cooperativa Agro-Comercial de PR” (Puerto Rico's Commercial Farmers Cooperative) had long been making a stride for Puerto Rican farmers. The cooperative was established to ensure that those producing high quality produce could also receive fair pay for their services. The history of the cooperative encloses in itself the history of a nation.
