Coffee Museum and Library in Ciales
Café Cibales picks up on 150 year old tradition of excellence in coffee growing in the mountains surrounding the town of Ciales, Puerto Rico. In 1994, Pedro Maldonado decided to document Ciales' legacy to the world of coffee opening the Puerto Rico Coffee Musuem. A true work of love, visits to the Coffee Museum are usually greeted by Mr. Maldonado who often times provides the tour himself.
At the Museum visitors will see a variety of coffee processing equipment and memorabilia.
The land that now gives you Café Cibales has been a source of prime coffee brands. At the musuem you will find the history of Ciales' first two coffee brands: Café Pintueles and Café Cialitos. Each brand marks a period when individuals were able to many unite farmers behind a single product.
